Registration Underway for 2009 Community Parade

Posted by dschroer on September 23rd, 2009

Register your school or community group now to take part in one of Frisco’s favorite traditions.  The annual Frisco Community Parade is a chance for families to come out and celebrate Veterans Day weekend, listen to high school marching bands and wave at the local football heroes, homecoming kings and queens, girl scout and boy scout troops to name a few of the participating groups. This year’s event is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Main Street on Saturday, November 14.

The parade serves as an opportunity to honor U.S. military members, past and present, as a part of the Veteran’s Day weekend.  The parade is also a wonderful way to promote the ’small town’ feel so important to the image of our city. A big part of that tradition are the floats created by many of our student and citizen groups.

Parade registration fees are $150 for non-profit and youth organizations and $200 for business and other professional organizations. Persons may register online by selecting ‘Parade Registration’ on the left side column of the Community Parade Web site, or in person at the FISD communication’s office at 6942 Maple St.

Staging for the event will be at Pizza Hut Park and participants need to meet at PHP at 9 a.m. to line up for the parade.
